The Lighthouse Shines:
~ The Road Warrior Team ~
Thousands of miles, Hundreds of Smiles….

Julie developed relationships with other rescues as well as out of state shelters.  Those shelters and rescues knew Julie and the Sadie’s team

could be depended on to help.  And help is what we do. When the lighthouse shines, transport comes for them. Sometimes, it’s thousands of miles and hundreds of smiles knowing that the dogs they’re saving will not spend another night in shelter. Many are set to be euthanized

within the week and now, their lives have been changed forever because of transport and team Sadie’s.

But…… It takes tough skin and an even stronger heart knowing they can’t fit all of them.  Trust us, they try… and usually one or two make transport that Sadie’s team back home didn’t know would be joining the family.  Transport knew had they not squeezed them in, they wouldn’t have lasted.  If you haven’t had the chance to be there when the transport arrives back in WNY, it’s an experience in itself. Dogs come off the vans usually filthy and scared, but their tails wag because they know….  This is their second chance, they’ve been saved. Sometimes a snuggle is all it takes to see their eyes light up.  Sometimes it’s a lean in, or sometimes it’s a kiss.

All of this happens because of the transport teams…They have tough skin and even tougher hearts. Think about how many hours in a van, not knowing exactly where you’re going, multiplied by 10+ dogs and all that barking, pooping, peeing…. Could you handle it??? Further, could you handle knowing you have to leave some behind?

If you haven’t thanked these transport folks, please make sure you do.

Thousands of miles, hundreds of smiles, and tears too....

Here's two video's made from the July 2013 transport and the March 2014 transport.  If you don't get the chills from watching these, you're not doing it right, my friend...
