Why have a mentor? What do they do? Responsibilities to the Foster
There are a couple of different reasons why mentors are important and why they exist within the Sadie’s organization. In order for any organization to really truly be successful, communication is key. A Mentor acts as the information hub of foster’s activities, works with vetting to schedule appts, stays in contact with intake to know how many dogs we have available and if we can take in more.
They have a wealth of experience rescuing dogs through Sadie’s as well as other organizations. They can provide valuable input if you see behavioral issues with your newest foster dog or you need help handing over the leash.
Here's an outline of their responsibilties to other teams and to the fosters they oversee.
