Meet Haven

Haven’s story is one of resilience and hope. At only 18 months old, she has already endured far more than she should have. Found wandering the streets of Uvalde, Texas, with just one surviving puppy from her litter, it’s believed that Haven has already had two to three litters in her short life.

Her journey to safety was nothing short of miraculous. With only minutes left before she was scheduled to be euthanized, Haven was rescued and transported to New York, where she now lives with a foster family who adores her.

Haven is a gentle, affectionate girl who loves starting each morning with a long hug. She walks beautifully on a leash and, once she feels comfortable, her playful and loving nature shines through. While she may be shy at first, with patience and reassurance she quickly opens her heart.

Haven would thrive as the only pet in her forever home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she’s been waiting for. She adores children and is searching for a family who can offer her the patience, stability, and unconditional love she so deeply deserves. She is being fostered in a home with other dogs and could live with another dog in her forever home

After all she’s been through, Haven is ready to leave her past behind and begin the life she was always meant to have safe, cherished, and truly home.

Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a dog, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog.

As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers.
