My name is Katelyn Belle (Katey), and I'm about 9 months old. I was surrendered by a young family who found it difficult to give me the attention I needed, as a puppy, after having their own baby. My foster moma says I'm a Dachshund mix, but she's not really sure what the mix is (LOVE). I am getting along with my 3 foster furbaby siblings, who are all smaller than me. (I weigh around 25 pounds and am solid muscle.) I sleep through the night in my crate without any accidents, which my foster moma is very thankful for. I go outside to do my business at regular intervals, but I do stay in the crate while mom is at work. I make her laugh the way I throw my toys and chase after them. I consider myself a lap dog, and want to sit (or sleep) right beside/on her when she's in the chair. I walk on a leash fairly well, but point to attention upon seeing a squirrel or a bird. I am VERY aware of my surroundings. I am still a puppy and will need more training on my commands (especially down/off). I'm also very active and would do best with a family that can give me the exercise I need. I think the one thing my foster moma likes best is that I haven't barked at all since I've been with her (not even when my foster siblings do). I am extremely affectionate and LOVE to give WET kisses. I am spayed, wormed, and have all my shots. I am ready to begin my final journey in my forever home, hopefully with you. Apply today at www.sadiesrescue.org Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a puppy, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog. At the time of adoption, the puppy will be current on vaccinations and deworming. He or she will come with a pre-scheduled appointment at our vet to be spayed or neutered that the adopter is obligated to keep. The puppy will also be microchipped at this time. Please consider the time and effort it takes to raise a puppy. Foster puppies are typically NOT potty trained. They require time and patience from their adopter. If you are NOT serious about adoption and have not discussed the possiblility of adding a new canine to your home with ALL live in family members, DO NOT APPLY. Volunteers spend countless hours reviewing applications, calling references, and scheduling home visits. Please be sure you are ready to add a puppy to your home BEFORE applying.
