Meet handsome, lovable Bo! This big guy recently made the trip from Texas to Buffalo and has been happily settling into life up north. Bo’s past is unfortunately not a happy one, as he was rescued from a life of severe neglect. After receiving lots of love and care these past few months, he is now ready to begin his new chapter and start the search for his forever family!
Despite his history, Bo is an incredibly happy and lovable guy, with a very sweet demeanor. He can sometimes be nervous with new people, however he warms up fairly quickly. During his time with his foster family, he has been completely unbothered by other dogs, whether on walks or in the house. He gets along great with his canine foster sibling. (His history with cats is unknown.)
Bo loves to be near his young (human) foster siblings as well, and has been practicing his “sit” and “shake” with them, along with learning how to play fetch! He has done very well with learning basic commands and manners, and walking politely on leash. He’s made great progress in all of these areas, and will only benefit from continued patience and training in order to master his skills.
Bo is house trained, shows no signs of food aggression, and sleeps great at night. He has not loved being inside of a closed crate, but occasionally goes in during the day for short naps (with the door open). When his foster family leaves the house (along with overnight), he has been confined to one room with a baby gate, and this has worked great for him.
Bo LOVES his daily walks, and enjoys sniffing out all of the smells along the way. He also loves to lounge in his kiddie pool. He has occasional bursts of energy where he enjoys running around and playing with a toy or another dog, but is not extremely high energy. Bo will happily curl up next to you on the couch (or wherever you may be), and really enjoys just being next to his people.
We believe Bo would benefit from having another dog in the home to play with, but would also be content as an only dog, as long as he has company at home most of the time. He would be a wonderful addition to a family who is ready to love and be loved in return! If you feel you may like to welcome Bo into your home, please submit an application today!
As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers. More about BoGood with Dogs
