Meet Lilly! Lilly is an 8-year-old beagle who has found herself in a bit of a midlife crisis. Lilly's owner loved her very much, but wanted better for Lilly, and she has now found herself having to live with roommates. It’s like the Golden Girls, but the Buffalo version. She’s also had to go on a bit of a diet, because hey, midlife weight gain is a real thing. She’s not sure how she found herself here, but she’s gonna keep on going because let’s be real, she can’t get a tattoo, buy a convertible or date the pool guy like others do with their midlife crises.

Lilly does well with dogs, cats and humans of all ages. She can be a little food protective (girl wants every kibble to herself if she’s going to be on a diet) so we would recommend she be fed in a crate or separated from any other dogs in the household during meal times. She’s learning to like her crate and spends the night in one without too many complaints. If she’s in the crate and you’re home, she may be vocal about not wanting to be in there because she’d rather be with you. Lilly has been trained to use pee pads and does so consistently. She will still pee outside and always does her other business outside. She does great on walks and occasionally has some beagle zoomies in the house. She is a happy little girl who is looking for the perfect place to spend her retirement years!

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at

Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a dog, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog.

As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers.
