Please read her entire bio: Who is ready for a little firecracker in their life? Meet Bellah! This girl is 18 pounds of FUN FUN FUN! Bellah is 1 year old and is a Golden Retriever/Poodle mix. She is super duper smart and very active. Bellah is good with other dogs and prefers to go to a home with another playful dog. She is in a foster home that has other dogs, cats, and farm animals and does well with everyone. Bellah loves life and doesn't walk anywhere, she runs runs runs. She loves a game of chase with the resident dogs and can hold her own while playing with her best buddy, a 120 pound Great Pyrenees. She is not a couch potato and will need a lot of physical and mental stimulation in order to be the best dog. She is working on inpulse control as she lacks patients. She is learning to sit to get harnessed up for her outside run, learning to sit before treats and learning to sit and wait before going outside. She will need someone to continue to work through this with her. She is very jumpy when excited, so the foster is teaching her in order to get attention all four paws need to be on the floor. She is a work in progress but is very smart and wants to learn. Bellah sleeps at the foot of the foster's bed and sleeps all night, she does use a crate when no one is home and although doesn't love it does settle down. She knows the "off" command and learning that counter surfing is not an appropriate behavoir. She is very sweet, loves everyone, is happy to be with her people and other dogs. She enjoys toys and chew bones and is very food motivated. She has great recall which is ALWAYS reinforced with super tastey treats. She loves to play in the water and enjoys running through the creeks while on her walk in the woods. She was groomed before coming into rescue and reported to be fine with the groomer. She will alert with a loud sharp bark when someone comes in the door but once greeted will go about her own business. She is potty trained but is on a pretty consistant schedule. She most likely would be fine with children, but she is a lot of dog (even for only 18 pounds). A working family that is busy with kids activities would not a good match for Bellah as she does require multiple outlets daily for her to run off energy and stimulate her brain. If you are looking for a super fun, diamond in the rough and have the time to spend bring out the best in Bellah apply today! We anticpate Bellah will receive numerous applications. We will work on finding the best possible match for Bellah. Submit an application at www.sadiesrescue.org
Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a dog, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog.
As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers.
