Hi Everyone my name is Jagger! I am still searching for my forever family. I have had quite the journey to arrive where I am now. I ended up in a shelter in Texas where they found out I had heartworm. They gave me the proper treatments and now I am back to 100%. Then they told me I was going on a ride to Buffalo, NY to find my forever family. I was very excited but once I got here it was kind of scary. All new humans and dogs and even some cats. It has taken me some time to adjust to my new life here but I'm finally starting to make some great friends. Heck I didn't even know what kind of dog I was! My foster mom says I look look like a corgidor (corgi, lab) which sounds pretty cool.
Foster mama has been very patient and understanding with me. She even gave me my own room and dog bed that I love! I currently live with 3 other dogs and a cat. I've also met some pretty cool dog and human friends that have come to visit. I'm still unsure about some humans, especially males, but I'm starting to get used to them. It just takes me some time to learn to trust them. I have been getting along great with my foster sisters but not too sure about my foster brother. I don't think he likes me and I get scared. However, there's been a few other dogs that have visited us that I really enjoyed playing with. My foster mom won't let me play with the cat though. She said he doesn't like me barking in his face, it scares him. I guess cats aren't really the best friends for me.
I would love to find a family or single human that will take me on car rides and walks. My foster mom takes me for rides in her jeep and I love it! She's also taken me for walks to the beach, which is really cool I even put my toes in the water! There's so much to explore! Plus I'm a little chunky so the exercise is great for me! I love attention and getting my belly rubbed and my foster mom says I give the best kisses.
I know my perfect family is out there somewhere. Please come find me! Just keep in mind it may take me some time to adjust to life with you but I know I can do it and be your bestest friend furever.
Jagger is a heartworm survivor and will require heartworm prevention medication for his entire life. He is neutered, UTD on all shots and is microchipped. If you think Jagger could be the dog of your dreams and want him to be part of your family, please apply at www.sadiesrescue.org.
Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a dog, so an application does not guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, rather we strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog.
As part of our adoption process references, both personal and veterinarian, will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers.
